I loved to watch you comb,
Your scarlet, falling hair,
I loved how when you pressed the sheets,
I threw them everywhere,
I loved the way you grabbed a hand,
A tender, reckless greed,
I asked about the morning,
You laughed insistently,
Tempted by a few more moments,
In the golden hour,
Of a night that wouldn’t last,
You dressed, I had a shower,
I loved you in the morning,
And watched you pass on by,
Loving love, and bringing hope,
A love I left behind.
